Charles F. Farrell Jr. Obituary

Charles Fernand Farrell, Jr.

May 19, 1930 - September 28, 2022

 His Story

Charles Farrell was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. His family moved to Texas in his youth, where he was valedictorian in school and received the American Legion Award.

He left Texas to attend Gulf Coast Military Academy in Mississippi for high school, where he was Commander of Company “C.” He graduated from Louisiana State University, where he was President of his class. After participation in the ROTC, he served in the Air Force. From there, he went on to Harvard Business School.

For over 32 years, he served as an independent outside Director of Sealed Air Corporation and was on the Board of Advisors for several smaller companies and venture capital start-ups.

In his final years, he served as President of Crystal Creek Enterprises, his personal investment management, and business consulting firm. He was known throughout the industry for his help in consulting and providing operational assistance to underperforming companies, priding himself on the fact that he steered these companies away from firing employees as a way to save their businesses. He was well known for his kindness, inclusivity, and honorable work ethic.

“I'll be seeing you
In every lovely summer's day
In everything that's light and gay
I'll always think of you that way

I'll find you in the morning sun
And when the night is new
I'll be looking at the moon
But I'll be seeing you”

Charles and Catherine Farrell- Newport Beach

“God saw that he was getting tired, a cure was not to be. So he put his arms around him and whispered, “Come with Me.”

With tearful eyes, we watched him suffer, and saw him fade away. Although we loved him dearly, we could not make him stay. A golden heart stopped beating, hard working hands to rest.

God broke our hearts to prove to us he only takes “the best.”

“From glen to glen, and down the mountainside.

The summer's gone, and all the roses falling,

It's you, it's you must go and I must bide.

But come ye back when summer's in the meadow,

Or when the valley's hushed and white with snow,

It's I'll be here in sunshine or in shadow.”

With Love,

Charles is lovingly survived by his beloved wife Catherine and his children, and his legacy will be kept alive with his grandchildren.
